Trump Allows Release of CIA Files on JFK Assassination

President Trump tweets “Subject to the receipt of further information, I will be allowing, as President, the long blocked and classified JFK Files to be opened.”

Even though I was in elementary school at the time, I still remember November 22nd, 1963 like it was yesterday. Though I’m not much of a conspiracy theorist, I still to this day have more questions than answers about the assassination. It just seems that one and one never quite add up to two.

Perhaps I’ll finally get some answers, but I’m not holding my breath on this one. I highly doubt that the CIA will release anything that would contradict their “lone gunman” story that they’ve been selling for decades now. No way they make themselves out to be liars.

Notice also that the president’s tweet starts with the ominus words “Subject to the receipt of further information.” That seems to suggest that he can change his mind on the release of the files if he so chooses…or is otherwise “persuaded” by some shadowy figures to stop the release. Hmmm…maybe I am a conspiracy theorist after all!

The assassination files are set to be released by the National Archives on October 26th but there were rumors that Trump would block the release. President Trump is the only person with the authority to block the publication of the files.

The 1963 assassination of JFK has been shrouded in controversy since the day it happened. There seems to be a conspiracy theory to every piece of the investigation with many people believing that there was a second gunman.

Lee Harvey Oswald was gunned down by Jack Ruby two days after the assassination, adding fuel to the conspiracy theory. Jack Ruby spent the rest of his life in prison. In an odd twist of fate, both Oswald and Ruby died at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas…the same hospital where President Kennedy was pronounced dead after the assassination.

I’m not putting too much into what these new files will contain. I think that if anything, they will create more questions and generate a slew of new conspiracies. But then again, maybe that’s exactly what the CIA is hoping for…more questions than answers.
