Hillary says Harvey Weinstein’s sexual assaults ‘cannot be tolerated’ and that we need to ‘stop this kind of behavior’. When hubby Bill was facing the same charges, she sang a completely different tune.
The Hillary Clinton train wreck just continues to happen. Again.
Today Hillary broke her silence about the sexual misconduct allegations against her BFF and huge Democratic (and Hillary campaign) donor Harvey Weinstein. Hillary said she was ‘shocked and appalled’ by the allegations.
In a tweet from her spokesman, Nick Merrill, she issued a statement that read “I was shocked and appalled by the revelations about Harvey Weinstein. The behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated. Their courage and the support of others is critical in helping to stop this kind of behavior.”
That’s quite the about-face for the woman who went on a hell-bent, take-no-prisoners witch hunt against the women who filed the very same allegations against her husband Bill during his presidency. Hillary labeled those women liars, women of loose morals and slung as much BS as needed to discredit them.
That’s pretty much what we’ve come to expect from Hillary. Throw anybody and everybody under the bus whenever it fits her needs. Her Royal Highness Hillary has become an expert at it. Ask Bernie.
This move might actually cost Hillary in the long run though. I firmly believe that Hillary still thinks she can win the presidency and that she will somehow try to run in 2020. Her ego just won’t allow anything less. But she’ll have to do it without the massive donations from Weinstein.
Weinstein is what’s known as a “bundler” in the political world. A bundler is someone who collects money from others once they’ve already donated the maximum legal amount of personal money to a candidate. A guy with the Hollywood connections like Weinstein can raise one hell of a lot of money.
Weinstein has been donating to the Clintons for more than two decades now. He supported both Bill and Hillary’s presidential campaigns and has given from $100,001 to $250,000 to The Clinton Foundation. That money pit may now be gone for the Clintons.
There’s no need to feel sorry for Hillary. She’ll find another sucker. She always does.
