O.J. was released from prison without fanfare just after midnight Saturday to avoid the press. With nine years to think about Nicole and Ron’s killer, he should’ve been able to develope some leads.
After serving nine years in a Nevada prison for a botched hotel room heist, O.J. Simpson is free. Thank God. Now we’ll finally know who killed Ron and Nicole. I’m certain that after nine years of doing nothing but concentrating on finding their killer -as promised- he’s got it narrowed down. Or not.
The now 70-year-old Simpson gains his freedom after being granted parole in July. He faces restrictions of up to five years of parole supervision and is unlikely to escape the public scrutiny as the man who went from football hero to suspected killer and convicted armed robber.
He told the parole board that he led a “conflict-free life,” an assertion that angered many who believe he got away with killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman in Los Angeles in 1994. He was acquitted the following year in Los Angeles in a travesty that was deemed “the trial of the century.”
So now the hunt for the real killers begins anew. Simpson has already searched most of the exclusive golf courses around the country, so logic would say that golf courses are out. Yet somehow I get the impression that we’ll see O.J. on the greens before the week is out. Bank on it.
I wonder how long it will be before we see O.J.’s new girlfriend. You just know there’s one out there who’s crazy enough…
