N. Korea says the U.S. “will never be able to avoid its permanent extinction.”
The U.N. Security Council unanimously approved new sanctions on North Korea during an emergency meeting on Monday. The sanctions are a slightly watered-down version of the measures sought by the Trump Administration that would have banned all oil imports and freeze all international assets of the North Korean government and its leader, Kim Jong-un.
The resolution does ban North Korea from importing all natural gas liquids and condensates. Also banned are all textile exports. It prohibits any country from authorizing new work permits for North Korean workers. The work permits and textile exports are two key sources of hard currency for the country.
U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley said “Today we are saying the world will never accept a nuclear armed North Korea. We are done trying to prod the regime to do the right thing.” She added that we instead are taking steps to prevent it “from doing the wrong thing.” These sanctions are by far the strongest measures ever imposed on North Korea.
Meanwhile, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), a mouthpiece for the North Korean regime issued the U.S. a stern threat today. Here is an excerpt of the article:
Pyongyang, September 11 (KCNA) — “Since the U.S. is revealing its nature as a blood-thirsty beast obsessed with the wild dream of reversing the DPRK’s development of the state nuclear force which has already reached the completion phase, there is no way that the DPRK is going to wait and let the U.S. feast on it.
The DPRK is closely following the moves of the U.S. with vigilance.
In case the U.S. eventually does rig up the illegal and unlawful “resolution” on harsher sanctions, the DPRK shall make absolutely sure that the U.S. pays due price.
The DPRK is ready and willing to use any form of ultimate means.
The forthcoming measures to be taken by the DPRK will cause the U.S. the greatest pain and suffering it had ever gone through in its entire history.
The world will witness how the DPRK tames the U.S. gangsters by taking series of action tougher than they have ever envisaged.
The U.S. should be fully aware that as long as it persists with intense political, economic and military confrontation with the DPRK in defiance of its repeated stern warning, the former will never be able to avoid its permanent extinction.”
All of North Korea’s other news outlets -all of which are under government control- printed similar stories.
