He thinks he can patch things up between Trump and Kim Jong-un.
You can’t make this stuff up, folks. Dennis Rodman, the former NBA star, appeared on the TV show Good Morning Britain earlier today and made a pitch at becoming a peacemaker between Trump and N. Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un. “I just want to try to straighten things out for everyone to get along together.” he quipped.
Rodman has become friends with Kim over the last four years and has made several well-publicized visits to N. Korea. The friendship began when he visited the country as part of a basketball exhibition in 2013.
“We laugh, we sing karaoke, we do a lot of cool things together. We ride horses, we hang out, we go skiing…” Rodman said about his relationship with Kim. He added “we hardly ever talk politics, and that’s the good thing.”
Rodman seems to think that if he can get Trump and Kim to sit down and talk things out between them, the tensions created by N. Korea’s ongoing ICBM missile tests and Sundays H-Bomb test could be smoothed over.
I remain a skeptic of anything Rodman says and think that he should stay out of such complex political chess games that he really knows nothing at all about. Besides, I don’t think Rodman could really ever get Kim and Trump in the same room.
I think this boils down to nothing more than Rodman wanting a few minutes in the limelight. Again.
