North Korea Fires A Missile Over Japan

The missile was fired without warning late today

(Update) The missile passed over the Japanese Island of Hokkaido and fell into the Pacific Ocean. It was a ballistic missile according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff. The missile flew 1,678 miles and had a maximum altitude of 342 miles.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has requested an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council. Abe said that the launch was a “significant threat.”


(Breaking News) North Korea launched yet another missile today, but this time it flew directly over Japanese airspace. As a result, Japan’s government went on high alert and warned its citizens to take cover.

The launch is another aggressive act by North Korea in an already tense situation in the western pacific region.
